Masteron

Masteron, chemical name Drostanolone propionate is an injectable anabolic steroid and is a derivative of DHT. Masteron is DHT modified with a 2-methyl group. The result is an increase in anabolic activities. Masterone has a favorable anabolic to androgenic rating It has an androgenic rating of roughly 30% the percentage of Testosterone and an anabolic rating of up to 130%. Masterone, therefore, is a moderately powerful steroid and unusually for anabolic steroids also provides anti-estrogenic properties. Masteron is favored by dieting bodybuilders and athletes participating in speed sports. Masterone promotes lean muscle mass and strength with minimal side effects. It is not as powerful when compared to some other steroids, however, it is well placed in the anabolic steroid industry.

Drostanolone propionate was developed in 1959 and became available as a prescription medicine roughly a decade later. Masteron’s legitimate purpose for being produced as a prescription medicine was for the treatment of inoperable breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It was popular as it presented considerable fewer virilization compared to say an equal dosage of Testosterone. Virilization in women in still possible with Masteron, however, this usually happens when taken over a longer period of time. Masteron began to be removed from the prescription-drug market in the 1980s and 1990s. There is currently no legitimate use for Masterone as a prescription medicine and more effective treatments for breast cancer are available. It is unlikely to be sold as a prescription medicine again, the Masteron that you will find will likely be on the black market produced by UGLs.

Side Effects

Masteron does not convert to estrogen and does not have a measurable estrogenic rating. Masteron is a favourite in cutting cycles. Estrogen-related side effects such as gynecomastia and water retention should not be a concern for even the most sensitive individuals. The weight gained from Masteron will provide a strong, dry look to the body.

Masteron is an anabolic steroid and will still produce androgenic side effects. The side effects will be more pronounced especially in larger doses. Liver toxicity is unlikely with most injectable steroids, and liver toxicity is usually a side effect of oral steroids being broken down in the liver. Masteron is not different, and it is highly unlikely that it should present liver-related side effects. As Masteron is a synthetic steroid, when taking in large amounts, it will cause the bodies natural testosterone production to shut down. This may not be a concern on cycle but when cycling off a steroid such as Masteron it is incredibly important to have a PCT protocol in place. This will help the body to kick start natural testosterone production.

Conclusion

Masteron can be regarded as a relatively safe steroid. It is mildly androgenic and at the same time moderately anabolic. Masteron may not be the strongest steroid available, but it certainly serves a purpose, that is to pack on lean, solid body mass and at the same time not present the user with a large number of androgenic related side effects. A typical dose for Masteron would be 300-500mg EW over a 12-week period.
